RW>Is there a way to have a message with a file attached be sent as a WCGate
RW>autoresponse? My application is as follows: I have news that gets updated
RW>every day on my BBS. I'd like to have the option for internet users to send
RW>a msg (e.g."to" news@bbs.com) which, when received here, WCGate would send a
RW>autoresponse message back with a file attached; the msg would state somethin
RW>to the effect that "the attached file contains the news you requested" and
RW>the attached zip file would contain the news (which would get updated in a
RW>batch process as a nightly event)
RW>I realize if the news is less than 64k, it could be sent as a long
RW>text message; however I'd like to send zip files to minimze ld and internet
RW>provider traffic premiums.
UUencode it manually... (with UUENCODE.EXE - from the archive (last
name I checked) UUEXE525.ZIP). If your news is updated automatically,
then you could make a batch file like:
CD \WILDCAT\GATEWAY\RESPONSE
UUENCODE NEWNEWS.TXT NEWNEWS.UUE
ECHO The attached file contains the news you requested. > NEWS.TXT
ECHO . >> NEWS.TXT
COPY NEWS.TXT+NEWNEWS.UUE NEWS.TXT
DEL NEWNEWS.*
or something like that... note the two >>'s on the second echo - one >
will overwrite the file, while two >s will append to the file.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Gaven
