DG>wcCODE 4.0 and wcCODE 4.01 are two very different things. 4.01 contains
DG>a whole slew of new commands, and to add them required some major
DG>changes to the code. That's why every wcCODE 4.0 program has to be
DG>recompiled to work with 4.01.

DG>It seems like a pain in the butt for sysops who are using WCX files that
DG>someone else compiled, and I can understand that. But from the
DG>programmer's point of view, 4.01 is a *major* improvement over 4.0 and
DG>it's clear that a recompile was necessary.

In my opinion, the main reason for the need to recompile was the change
of format for the EXISTING commands... i.e. ADDMESSAGE now allows an
extra option, so the compiled code would be slightly different, and
incompatible.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers
